Effective as of August 1st 2011, JVC KENWOOD Holdings, Inc. has changed its name to JVCKENWOOD Corporation.

On October 1, 2008 Victor Company of Japan, Limited (JVC) and Kenwood Corporation (Kenwood) integrated management by establishing JVC KENWOOD Holdings, Inc. (JVCKENWOOD), the joint holding company, through a share transfer. JVCKENWOOD was listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange on October 1, 2008 and became the wholly owning parent that holds 100% of JVC and Kenwood shares, both of which have become unlisted operating companies.

Meantime, JVC and Kenwood established J&K Car Electronics Corporation (J&K Car Electronics) as a materially independent operating company in the Car Electronics business which was common business area having a biggest integration effect for both companies by combining the technological development, designing, procurement, production, and product planning and marketing functions of both companies. As a result, the JVCKENWOOD Group had its corporate structure consisting of one joint holding company and its three operating companies.

On August 1, 2011 JVC KENWOOD Holdings, Inc. changed its name to JVCKENWOOD Corporation, and subsequently merged its three subsidiaries — JVC, Kenwood, and J&K Car Electronics — on October 1, 2011.
